Burnaby runs from post-war bungalows on the north slope to towers going up around Metrotown and Brentwood. The older stock is where most of our sealed unit work is, and it is almost always fixable without touching the frame.
CALL 778-317-6476The 1970s and 1980s houses through Burnaby Heights and Edmonds were built with double-glazed units that have simply aged out. Thirty to forty years is a long run for an edge seal, and when it goes the condensation shows up between the panes on the first cold morning of the year.
The hillside adds its own problem. Homes stepping up toward Burnaby Mountain and Capitol Hill catch more wind and more sun on the exposed face, so the south and west glass tends to fail years ahead of the sheltered side of the same house.
A foggy pane almost never means the whole window has to go. In most cases the frame is sound and only the sealed glass unit needs replacing — measured on site, built to fit, and installed in your existing opening.
